Trivia / The Simpsons S2 E11: "One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish"

Go To

  • Blooper: When Barney looks out of his window while on the phone to Homer, revealing to the audience that the police station is just across the street from his apartment, it is clearly night time. A few scenes later, after Barney bails Homer out of jail, it is suddenly dusk.
  • Edited for Syndication: In Latin America the scene of the master chef with Edna was cut for open TV.
  • First Appearance: Of Akira.
  • Throw It In!: Larry King ad-libbed the bit at the end of his Bible narration, riffing on the way he typically ended his radio shows at the time (he would always give a Shout-Out to Duke Zeibert and his Washington, DC restaurant, and often would throw out a sports betting tip too), not expecting that it would end up in the final cut of the episode.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Originally, the episode was supposed to end with Homer now left to suffer Flanders' barbecue and facing all the people he insulted and/or took advantage of when he thought he was going to die. Marge would ask Homer if he's still glad to be alive, Homer doesn't respond. The writers couldn't come up with a funny way to approach the scene in time, so they ended it with some Stock Footage of Homer watching TV and eating pork rinds from "Moaning Lisa".
    • Larry King's role was first offered to Bruce Springsteen, but he turned it down. According to showrunner Sam Simon, William Shatner also rejected the part.
