• Follow the Leader: The film inspired many imitations, including The Queens of Comedy, The Original Latin Kings of Comedy, The Kims of Comedy, The Comedians of Comedy , and The Killers of Comedy. Some believe that Blue Collar Comedy Tour was inspired by the film, as well.
• Throw It In!: In a deleted scene, Bernie Mac breaks his mic by hitting it to simulate hitting someone else. When he realizes it doesn't work, he spends a few seconds angrily saying something that can't be heard, then starts dancing to keep the audience entertained. When he finds the mic still doesn't work, he picks up the mic stand and starts play air-bass guitar with it.
