  • Box Office Bomb: Budget, $5.5 million. Box office, $2,447,576.
  • Money, Dear Boy: Michael Caine said in a television interview that the only reason he did this movie was to earn enough money to put a down payment on a new garage he was having built.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Oliver Stone's first choice for Jon Lansdale was Jon Voight, who passed on it. Dustin Hoffman and Christopher Walken were then offered the role and both turned it down.
    • Stone wanted James Brolin for the role of Jonathan Lansdale. Brolin turned it down because he thought the script was terrible, but he regretted passing up the opportunity to work with Stone.
    • Eddie Deezen auditioned for a part but didn't get it because Oliver Stone didn't like the way he walked.
