Trivia / The Browning Version

Go To

  • Actor-Shared Background: Like Crocker-Harris, Michael Redgrave taught at a prestigious public school for boys before he became an actor. Unlike Crocker-Harris, though, Redgrave taught modern languages (English, French and German) and was more of a Cool Teacher a la Frank Hunter rather than a Stern Teacher.
  • Dyeing for Your Art: Michael Redgrave bleached his dark hair and shaved the crown of his head to create a bald patch to look the part of Andrew Crocker-Harris. He also wanted to lose more weight for the role but had been cast at such short notice that he didn't reach his goal before filming began. As a result, his weight visibly fluctuates between scenes in the film.
