• Dawson Casting: In a major way. Anna and Henrik, who are supposed to be around 20, are played by actors who are in their mid-30s and look it. Carried on to Anna's mother Karin who's supposed to be in her mid-40s and is played by the 57-year-old Ghita Nörby, making her only 6 years younger than her in-story husband Max von Sydow, who's supposed to be at least 20 years older than her.
• Role Reprise: Börje Ahlstedt reprises his role as Uncle Carl from Fanny and Alexander, although with this being the "true" story, the character is a bit different. He would repeat the role again in Sunday's Children and In The Presence Of A Clown.
