Trivia / Test Track

Go To

  • Refitted for Sequel: When Disney and GM first bounced around ideas for an attraction in the 70s, a Test Track like concept of vehicle testing was proposed before the World of Motion precursor was developed. During the original development of the first Test Track, testing of a futuristic vehicle was considered before the modern car testing angle was chosen.
  • Troubled Production: The ride did not have an easy development. Two of the biggest issues were that the original tires would not stand up to a day's operations, the second being that the software for the ride would crash when there were more than six vehicles on the ride track. These two issues were the reason why the ride's opening was delayed by about two years, requiring the mothballed Horizons and the unfinished Ellen's Energy Adventure to play the movie of the previous ride with removed effects to open for the summer of 1996.
