• Cast the Runner-Up: Mädchen Amick was the runner-up for the role of Salia. She was instead cast as a teenage girl.
• Dawson Casting: Jaime Hubbard is around ten years older than Wil Wheaton, even though their characters are around the same age. (Strangely, Mädchen Amick is only about a year and a half older than Wheaton. She was the runner-up for the role of Salia, and would go on to have a far more prominent career than Hubbard.)
• Prop Recycling: Wesley's board game is a modified Nuke 'Em board from RoboCop (1987).
