- Blooper: Natalie removes her boots just before getting ready for the shower scene, and she remains barefoot even after running outside after Zach had fallen from the window. But when they leave for the hospital, suddenly her boots are back on.
- Executive Meddling: According to Vivian Schilling the bath scene was added at the behest of the producers over the protests of her and director Michael Rissi, in hopes that having near-nudity would help the movie's video sales.
- Stillborn Franchise: For several years the producers tried to get a sequel off the ground that explored more about the Soultaker's world. Several famous actors including William Shatner, James Earl Jones and Faye Dunaway were approached for major roles in the film, which was tentatively titled Dark Angel, but the producers weren't able to secure funding. Vivian Schilling reworked elements of the proposed story into her novel Quietus, published in 2002.
