• Creator Backlash: Ironically, despite the positive reception from the fanbase, Sodor Fallout would become an old shame for Connor. According to him, he grew tired of the story and wanted to do different things with Thomas (leading him to create a crossover between Thomas and Touhou Project, of all things). Eventually, Connor released the original draft so the fans of the story would stop bugging him about it.
• Fanvid: Surprisingly this fic has garnered a lot of attention and fans. The latter, in particular, has made numerous music videos for the story, either with the songs All I Want by The Offspring or Atomic Renegade by DA Games. Both songs have been used so much it's gotten to the point that either two could be Sodor Fallout's theme song.
  • Aside from the ones made by Connor, some fans have created their own videos that spotlight other characters in the Sodor Fallout universe from their perspective or animate certain parts of the story.
  • The idea of the Island of Sodor being hit by a disaster or becoming post-apocalyptic has taken off and inspired other writers and creators to put out their ideas and stories, such as Sodor Dark Realm.
