• The Cast Showoff: As with the Hex Girls' voice actresses in Witch's Ghost, Scott Innes gets to sing as Shaggy for a song.
• In Memoriam: The credits feature a dedication to Mary Kay Bergman, where this was her final performance as Daphne. She killed herself just weeks after recording, and the film was released posthumously.
• Technology Marches On: The fake MPs opened Crystal's camera intending to ruin the film, but instead find exotic (alien) circuitry inside. She explains it as being a digital camera. When Alien Invaders came out, film cameras were still commonplace while digital cameras were just starting to become mainstream, so the henchmen being unfamiliar with a digital camera, and even buying Crystal's explanation about the strange circuitry, was believable back then.
• What Could Have Been: Just imagine if Casey Kasem had either re-assumed his role as Shaggy in this film, or if he never had the falling out before Zombie Island began recording. He'd be the one singing "How Groovy." We know he can sing as Shaggy thanks to this little gem, so it's kind of disappointing he didn't sing here.
