- Contest Winner Cameo: Simone, one of the two victims in the opening trap, is played by Tanedra Howard, who got the role after winning the first season of Scream Queens (2008).
- Method Acting: In the DVD commentary, Kevin Greutert made note that Caroline Cave, Debbie's actress, scared him with her performance. She was so physically aggressive filming the Steam Maze sequence that she got hurt a few times, supposedly even having to get stiches. However, this performance, though intense, made for one of the most realistic portrayals of waking up in a Saw trap according to Greutert and the crew, who praised Cave for her work.
