• Creator Backlash:
  • Someguy frequently mocks Russell in his livestreams and has stated that he regrets making the character as his original intent was to make a companion who was devoid of the usual emotional baggage that was emblematic of vanilla New Vegas companions like Boone - needless to say, he was unsuccessful - and also that he injected a bit too much of his own real-life opinions into the character.
  • In addition, he received comments from people telling him in vivid detail what they would like to do with the character and demanded that he make Russell romanceable to the point that he received outright death treats from people because he refused to comply, which soured him against making any further story-based companion mods in the future.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Someguy claims he originally intended to have an option to side with the Sand Wolves against Silverwood, but ended up being too burnt out while making the mod to make the Sand Wolves route.
  • Someguy also revealed he had plans to make a sequel that would have followed Russell rebuilding the Desert Rangers in Mexico to fight against a resurgent Super Mutant army. For a number of reasons, including the aforementioned Creator Backlash, this never materialized.
