- All-Star Cast: The only characters with speaking roles and prominent positions are portrayed by Eddie Murphy, Iman, and NBA basketball all-star Magic Johnson.
- Fake Nationality: It goes without saying, but none of the actors in the music video are Egyptian. Among others, Jackson is from Indiana, Murphy is from New York, and Magic Johnson is from Michigan. The closest they got is Iman, who hails from Somalia, another predominantly Muslim country in Africa.
- Writing by the Seat of Your Pants: In a 2022 interview with DJ Premier, song producer Teddy Riley said that he had produced the extra bridge for the start of the video's dance break while on the set, because Jackson had called him in last minute to remix the song for the video; forcing him to rush.
