Trivia / Raffy Tulfo

Go To

  • Colbert Bump: Quite a number of celebrity complainants have experienced a surge in popularity after being featured in Tulfo's programme, a standout example being drag comedian Super Tekla whose affair with a live-in partner was the subject of a widely-publicised controversy in 2020. Tekla's vlog channel on YouTube quickly gained over two million subscribers since then, mostly from those who watched the whole saga and followed him out of sympathy.
  • Follow the Leader: Philippines Most Wanted is, by Tulfo's own admission, closely patterned after the police procedural programme America's Most Wanted.
  • The Merch: Besides endorsing a number of products, he has also marketed merchandise using his name and likeness, including but not limited to a special edition Cherry Mobile smartphone emblazoned with his name and likeness, and even a Funko Pop! knockoff figure of him, perhaps in lieu of Funko themselves producing an authorised Funko Pop figure of him a la Jollibee.
    • The Funko Pop knockoff is a Riddle for the Ages though: given Tulfo's popularity and the income he got from all the scandals he covered, surely he would have outright collaborated with Funko as what they did with Jollibee, right?
  • Money, Dear Boy: A number of critics accuse him of being this, cashing in on whichever scandal that's making the headlines such as a double-murder case involving a rogue police officer and the death of a flight attendant at a hotel during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Not helping matters was when he got flak for persuading a teacher to resign from her job either.
