Trivia / Onslaught Cycle

• Adapted Out: The pit fighter legends of Onslaught and the Riptide Project in Scourge.
• Creator Killer: Previously a very prolific Magic writer, J. Robert King's resurrection of Yawgmoth in Scourge seems to have torpedoed his career with Wizards. He hasn't written another novel for the universe since Scourge.
• Creative Differences: King wanted Yawgmoth to come back. Wizards didn't. The rest is history.
• Executive Meddling: Yawgmoth's resurrection being retconned into a hallucination in the Time Spiral cycle was brought about by this.
• He Also Did: Trilogy author J. Robert King wrote a number of gamebooks for Dungeons & Dragons and Forgotten Realms before taking up literature proper. His other published works include Planescape's Blood War trilogy, the Carnival of Fear novel for Ravenloft, and the Dragonlance novel Vinas Solamnus
