Trivia / Ofra Haza

Go To

  • Breakthrough Hit: Haza's international breakthrough came from the release of her 1984 album Yemenite Songs.
  • Died During Production: A year before her death in 2000, Ofra Haza had been recording new material for a new album with Ron Aviv, an Israeli music producer. At the same time, she was working with Linda Brava, a Finnish violinist, who released a previously unreleased track on her MySpace page in May 2010. This track, titled "Tarab", is possibly the last recording Haza had done before her death.
  • Multiple Languages, Same Voice Actor: For The Prince of Egypt, Haza sang Yocheved's lines in eighteen out of twenty-one languages, about half of which were sung phonetically.
  • Real-Life Relative: Ofra’s mother Shoshana Haza (who used to be a wedding singer) provided the background vocals to the song “Fatamorgana”. She even had her mother record her vocals over the phone.
