• Saved from Development Hell: Gilles Legardinier wanted to make the film as soon as 2013, and absolutely wanted Malkovich and no-one else in the role. Development stalled because, apparently, Malkovich's agents simply ignored the script for ten years. When he read it, Malkovich (who loves France) signed up right away.
