  • He Also Did: In 1999, as part of WCW's sponsorship of the series, several WCW-themed trucks entered the series. All were operated by hired veteran drivers except one—Madusa. Yes, driven by the wrestler herself. She made the world finals several times, winning two World Finals titles (freestyle in 2004, racing in 2005). Madusa (driver and truck) left the series in 2006, came back in 2009, and the truck continued to run with several drivers, including Madusa herself, until she retired in 2017.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: Pretty common, as trucks will often have their own theme song, often being representative of the truck's theme. Grave Digger has "Bad to the Bone" by George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Max-D has "Doperide" by Saliva, El Toro Loco has had various themes (currently "Misirlou" by Dick Dale, but also "I Am the Bullgod" by Kid Rock), and Blue Thunder uses "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: An Escalade didn't have a Hot Wheels release due to legal issues with General Motors.
  • Screwed by the Merchandise: This was a factor in the retirement of El Diablo (along with the body being too expensive to produce). When a focus group was shown prototypes for its planned Hot Wheels toy, they thought the toy was "too scary looking" and disapproved of the name.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Dennis Anderson planned a Grave Digger monster tank during the late 80s monster tank fad named "Grave Digger Wild Trax". It was never built and only T-shirt art was created.
    • FELD and Marvel Comics planned an event called Marvel Monster Trucks Live (also called Marvel Monstergeddon: Super Hero Smash Up). Planned to be held at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego in July 2012, it would have featured 25 trucks, including the then-recently-reintroduced Marvel monster trucks, as well as motorcycles, ATV's and other stunts, and would have been mostly staged with an original storyline. The event went as far as promotional displays and Marvel taking suggestions from fans for ideas before it was cancelled.
