Trivia / Merry Christmas from The Beach Boys

Go To

  • Fake Nationality: "Seasons in the Sun" keeps the names of the characters being addressed by its dying narrator (his friend Emile and his wife Françoise, along with the multilingual Papa) used by Jacques Brel in "Le Moribond", meaning that all-American boy Carl Wilson is playing the role of a Frenchman (or perhaps a Belgian, as Brel was).
  • Recycled Script: "(I Saw Santa) Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" has its instrumental taken from the song "Hey There Momma" which was initially recorded for The Beach Boys Love You.
    • "Santa's Got An Airplane" is a Christmas version of the song "Loop De Loop" which was intially recorded for Sunflower (and is the reworked version of a previous track called "Sail Plane Song")
    • The outro of "Morning Christmas" is an instrumental track named "Common" which was originally recorded for the cancelled Dennis Wilson album Bambu.
