Trivia / M*A*S*H S1 E1: Pilot

• California Doubling: Exteriors were filmed at the famous (former) Fox Ranch in Malibu Creek State Park, on the same outdoor set used in the film.
• Edited for Syndication: Unfortunately, this episode is frequently a victim of trimming down for commercials, leading to the unique intro being replaced by the standard intro.
• The Other Darrin:
  • Father Mulcahy is played by George Morgan in the pilot only, prior to being played by William Christopher for the rest of the series. He is also nicknamed "Red" due to his actor having red hair, which Christopher does not.
  • Pvt. Boone is played by Bruno Kirby in the pilot only. Robert Gooden took over the role for three other Season 1 episodes before the character was dropped without explanation.
  • Lt. Dish is played by Karen Philipp in only the pilot and "Germ Warfare", and no other episode.
