• Acclaimed Flop: Sobule is a critical darling, but her style of music hasn't earned her much mainstream success, which is why Atlantic Records dropped her after only two albums.
• Black Sheep Hit: While not too different from the rest of her music, stylistically, "I Kissed A Girl" is one of her more outwardly jokey song, and as a result, she was written off as a novelty act.
• No-Hit Wonder: While "I Kissed A Girl" and, to a lesser extent, "Supermodel" are fairly popular, neither charted very high ("I Kissed A Girl" just barely cracked the top 70 of the US Hot 100).
