Ascended Fanon: A FFN reviewer for Chapter 17 commented on how Jaune's observation in the prologue that the strongbox used to contain Nihilus's mask was similar to the ones used by his family foreshadowed The Reveal that Jaune's ancestor was the one who hid the mask in the cavern. The author's response was more or less Sure, Let's Go with That.

Creator Backlash: In the author's notes for the epilogue, WelcomeToEstalia considers making a terentatek the antagonist for Chapter 7 to be their "biggest regret in the story" and state that they would cut out the terentatek entirely if they ever rewrite the fic. At the time, the terentatek had been introduced for the sake of the Rule of Cool and the author has since acknowledged how their backstory for the terentatek seriously conflicts with the previously established lore for the terentateks in Star Wars Legends.
The author was initially going to have Team JNPR and RWBY fight a Nuckelavee Grimm during their field trip to Forever Fall before changing it to a terentatek.
The author at one point thought about adapting the events of RWBY: Grimm Eclipse to the story. They ultimately decided against it, explaining that they wanted to keep the fanfic at a reasonable "novel" size and felt that any extra arcs would just wind up becoming filler.
The author confirms that this fanfic's version of the Brother Gods from RWBY are actually part of the same race as the Celestials from the Legends continuity of Star Wars.
In their AN for Chapter 18, the author states that their idea to explain the terentatek's presence on Remnant was that it was a Super Prototype to the Grimm and was one of the many Dark Side creatures the God of Darkness experimented with before creating the Grimm.
