- Creator Backlash: For unknown reasons Yoshihiro Yamada and the editorial staff walked off the project as consultants. Yamada also asked his credit be changed from "original story" to "original concept" (or "original work" to "original scheme" depending on the translation).
- Troubled Production: The series has had a fair share of behind the scenes drama. It started with the band member of cro-magnon which co-composed the music and wrote the theme song getting arrested on a drug charge suspicion then Yamada and the editorial staff walking off the project and asking for a credit change.
