- Based on a Dream: Word of God said the game was based on a recurring nightmare of his about an angel named Gyossait atop a pyramid in the center of the earth. It certainly explains that black pyramid at the end!
- Cut Song: The deluxe version comes with three of them: "Counting Down from Heaven," "Gyossait's Lullaby," and "Gods' angry languages," the latter of which was used for the commercial.
- What Could Have Been:
- According to a forum post, Amon 26 had been attempting to make a prequel to Gyossait about Uzaza's ascent to godhood. Uzaza's original human sprite depicts him as having long, red hair, wearing green armor, and carrying a sword. He was described as a "samurai Braveheart."
- The Alpha of the game that comes with the deluxe edition reveals that he can attack via Sword Beams and has a Charged Attack. The README of the prototype says that he was supposed to be a Human Sacrifice, but accidentally found the Heart of Gyossait during the botched ritual.
- From the same forum topic, Amon also posted what Oyeatia's severed head originally looked like. He was supposed to have a helmet on and leaking black ooze out of his eyes. Amon ultimately thought it was "too heavy handed" and decided to scrap it, although the helmet was given to Uzaza.
- Gyossait was originally going to be a Puzzle Platformer, but was changed to a regular Platform Game because it looked too similar to suteF.
