  • Clumsy Copyright Censorship: Jay-Z‘s “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)” plays a key role in a scene from Season 2’s “Sister, Sistah,” in which Lynn’s adoptive sister Tanya (who faces criticism by Joan and Toni in the episode for being a Caucasian who “acts Black”) exercises the N-Word Privileges she mistakenly believes she had, to the dismay of Lynn and the Situations staff and patrons. Music licensing issues resulted in “Izzo” being replaced by a generic rap tune for the episode’s DVD and streaming versions, with the N-word spoken by Tanyanote  being randomly and poorly edited in (as it appears nowhere in the section of the replacement song that was used).
  • Dawson Casting: Golden Brooks, who played Maya, the youngest of the four main characters, is the oldest of the quartet.
  • The Other Darrin: Darnell was played by Flex Alexander from One on One in the first season, then played by Khalil Kain for the rest of the series.
    • Kelly and Jason Pitts in the Poorly Disguised Pilot for The Game (2006).
    • Toni's little brother Antoine got swapped out as well. His first appearance had him portrayed by Russell Hornsby; he was then played by Darius McCrary for all subsequent portrayals.
  • Star-Making Role: For Tracee Ellis Ross.
  • What Could Have Been: Season eight was always planned to be the final season but sadly it was cut short with no proper finale due to the writer's strike as prior to the show's cancellation by The CW due to expensive costs, there were plans for the show to resume production for the last nine episodes after the strike as well as moving it to Sundays.
    • After it was cancelled, there were plans to do a retrospective episode that would conclude the show though it wouldn't resolve the characters' storylines, but it never materialised due to the actors not happy with the network's offer of only half of their usual episodic salary to take part.
