• Author's Saving Throw: The series as a whole was intended as one to undo the damage done to Wally West as a character by Heroes in Crisis. By the end of the series, Wally is firmly on the path to being a hero again, and his history with Linda Park is restored, with their children Irey and Jai returned home.
• What Could Have Been: From various pieces of information, Flash Forward and its epilogues were meant to lead into a "Generation 5" reboot, which would have seen the entire DC Universe timeline reshuffled so that the heroes existed for literal decades and virtually every event placed within one singular timeline. This would have been caused by the Manhattan-powered Wally causing a Crisis event to fix the timeline. However, DiDio was fired in February 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic brought comics to a screeching halt. When it resumed, Wally was now a major player in Dark Nights: Death Metal and the Free Comic Book Day issue that would have lead to this, Generation Zero: Gods Among Us, was rewritten for the collected edition to lead in to that story.
