Voltalia decided to go with Sapphire instead because they didn't have much experience writing trans characters at the time. The original idea was later realized with the P.O.V. Sequel Do You Believe in Destiny?
- According to the author's note at the end of Chapter 1 of Do You Believe in Destiny?, Petunia Diamond and Rose Curtis were originally supposed to be two different people. However, "A Single Pale Rose" aired while the first fanfic was on hiatus, so the decision was made to make them one and the same.
