Trivia / DuckTales (2017) S3E9 "They Put a Moonlander on the Earth!"

• Acting for Two:
  • Jenkins is voiced by Ben Schwartz, and his one line in the episode is directed at Dewey (Ben's regular role on the series).
  • Rob Paulsen is back as Gibbous, and he also voices one of the assistants to the safety inspector (the gruffer, harsher sounding one).
• Development Gag: The title of the episode is retooled from the original title of “Whatever Happened to Della Duck”, “They Put a Duck on the Moon”. It was changed after the crew decided the title sounded too jokey considering the gravitas of a huge Wham Episode showing what Della had been up to on the Moon.
• Word of Gay: Writer Sam King confirmed that Penumbra is a lesbian shortly after the release of the episode. Overlaps with I Knew It!, as fans already began to speculate she may not be heterosexual after she said the line "I do not wish to date an Earth... male".
• What Could Have Been: Regarding Penumbra being a lesbian, Sam King also said that she "had certain constraints [she] had to work in to get this across", but that she wishes "it was more overt". This means that, had Disney been as flexible as with The Owl House, we may have gotten clearer indications that Penumbra is a lesbian.
