Trivia / Dragon from Russia

• Dueling Works: Was released in the same year as Killer's Romance, another Hong Kong adaptation of Crying Freeman (coincidentally both movies are made in Hong Kong, but set overseas, respectively in Moscow and London). Although Dragon From Russia wins in terms of box office, it had a bigger budget, more A-list actors in its cast, and Killer's Romance is more likely to be remembered due to its cult status.
• Playing Against Type: Sam Hui is more popularly-known as a singer and pop-star instead of an action icon; outside of the Aces Go Places movies and the first Swordsman, practically all his films are sappy dramas or tearjerker operas.
