- Approval of God:
- "Though the Fire and Flames" is a one of the most well-known mods in Trombone Champ. Herman Li watched a playthrough of the song and thought it was hilarious.
- Herman also records his reactions to various covers of "Through the Fire and Flames" and often gives them his approval.
- Breakthrough Hit: "Through the Fire and Flames" being included in Guitar Hero is what put the band on the map. Sales of their albums saw a huge spike the week after Guitar Hero III launched in October 2007.
- Creative Differences: The band stated that ZP leaving "is due to insurmountable differences of musical opinion".
- Creator Backlash:
- Downplayed, but yes, they’ve heard TTFAF just as much as everyone else. They seem to be plenty proud of it, but they’d prefer to talk about something else.
- Sam Totman isn't exactly proud of his beginnings in the black metal band Demoniac, where he wrote homophobic and racist songs to deliberately shock.
- Inspiration for the Work:
- Their name was inspired by the Sega Saturn classic DragonForce.
- "Power of the Triforce" was mainly inspired by The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
- Promoted Fanboy: Marc Hudson, who won the contest to replace ZP Theart after he left the band.
- Short Run in Peru: The group's albums are typically released in Japan a full week before the rest of the world gets them.
- Throw It In!: Notice how the guitar in TTFAF sounds a bit weird towards the end? That's because Herman Li's guitar string actually broke while recording it. It ended up in the final mix because it just sounded good.
- What Could Have Been:
- YouTube musician Steve Terreberry was offered a spot as touring bassist in late 2019, but had to drop out due to anxiety issues. He did get a cameo in the video for "Razorblade Meltdown" though.
- They were originally named DragonHeart, which was the name they used for the Valley of the Damned demo.
