• On-Set Injury: Robert Redford tore a tendon in his knee when he was in a snowmobile accident.
• Uncredited Role: Natalie Wood, a good friend and co-star of Robert Redford (Inside Daisy Clover, This Property Is Condemned) – and whose then-husband Richard Gregson was a producer on the film – worked uncredited as a production assistant, typing up script revisions and shopping for wardrobe and props. Wood also appeared as an extra in some of the crowd scenes.
• What Could Have Been: Roman Polański was the original choice to direct the movie, but he dropped out to make Rosemary's Baby instead.
