Trivia / Divine Divinity

Go To

  • Executive Meddling: The title Divine Divinity was forced by their publisher CDV, as an attempt to ride on their success with Sudden Strike for having similar alliterative naming. The original title was Divinity: The Sword of Lies.
  • What Could Have Been: The first incarnation of the game was named Unless: The Treachery, until Realms of Arkania developer Attic decided to co-produce the game, gave it The Dark Eye license, and renamed it The Lady, the Mage and the Knight (Legenden der Magierkrieg/Legends of the Mage Wars in German). This version of the game lets the player control the three titular heroes, and is set 400 years before the tabletop game's Aventuria setting, which is used to handwave away the various original creatures Larian designed. This incarnation was eventually cancelled due to conflicts with publisher Infogrames.
