  • Missing Episode: Most of the episodes from the first 20 years are gone, either because they were never recorded or because the recordings were wiped. The earliest surviving episode is a 1951 edition featuring Margaret Lockwood. Excerpts from those episodes were occasionally saved at the request of the guests, such as one from a 1960 edition featuring Alfred Hitchcock where he discusses the changing landscape of the movie industry and his own films, including The Pleasure Garden, Rebecca and the then-upcoming Psycho.
  • Real Song Theme Tune: Eric Coates' "By the Sleepy Lagoon" has been the theme song since 1942. Written in 1930 and first recorded by its composer in 1935, it was adapted into "Sleepy Lagoon" with lyrics by Jack Lawrence and became a popular hit in 1942.
