Trivia / Dacre Montgomery

Go To

  • Actor-Inspired Element: The addition of Billy's abusive father and his mother leaving him was Dacre's request, in an attempt to humanise him and add depth to him, because he didn't want him to just be 'bad' with no reasoning behind it. Dacre has been very open about being bullied when he was at school for being Formerly Fat, but has stated that as he got older, he realised those who bullied him probably didn't have good, stable home lives, causing them to lash out against others. This inspired him to add this to Billy's background.

  • Enforced Method Acting: During the sauna scene in Season 3 of Stranger Things, he actually headbutted the glass during a take, and his head went through most of the glass.
  • Fake American: In almost every role he's played.
  • Promoted Fanboy: Was a fan of Stranger Things before being cast as Billy.
