- Died During Production: Shari Lewis was only able to tape three episodes of the second season before she was diagnosed with cancer. The episodes aired five months after her death.
- Dueling Shows: In the fall of 1998, the show had competition in the form of The Noddy Shop, which also had the premise of an elderly person running a shop alongside their animal friends. Due to a combination of Shari's death, poor scheduling, and being overshadowed by Teletubbies premiering at the same time, The Noddy Shop became the more popular show.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Like its sister series, only a few segments were released on home video as they were able to clear the music rights to them. It used to air on Kids & Teens' TV and PBJ for a while until rights holder DreamWorks Animation was bought by Universal and took the show off television along with a few others in the Classic Media catalog.
- Screwed by the Lawyers: Good luck convincing the rights holders to pay music royalties so they can release the show on DVD.
