- Creator Backlash: There is a good reason why this game is no longer available on digital developer services. The developers were not happy with how this game turned out and would like to pretend this game never happened. The game is also incredibly politically incorrect by modern standards, to the point it would likely be unpublishable if it came out today. Furthermore, Techland is now self-publishing the series instead of Ubisoft, and all but this game has been rereleased.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Both Call of Juarez: Gunslinger and The Cartel were removed from digital storefronts in 2018 due to Ubisoft's publishing license expiring and reverting back to Techland. While Gunslinger quickly returned to digital stores, The Cartel is still missing in action as of 2021, likely due to the Old Shame nature of the game. Physical CD-ROMs from 2011 still exist, but since they contain a Steam download key only unused copies will work.
