Miscellaneous trivia

  • In early access, champion selection was not arranged in simple alphabetical order, but rather alphabetically according to internal titles that co-related to the champions' spiritual predecessor from Bloodline Champions (e.g., Sirius was first in selection because he was based on the Astronomer). They also had a homeland (North, South, East or West) as an additional form of categorization, and some daily quests required you to play matches using champions from a specific region, which was presumably removed for being too arbitrary.
  • Champions used to have their abilities' icons reused from their Bloodline Champions predecessor. Most of these were replaced with new art, but a few remain from that game, especially the general icons for status effects under the "Control" score section.
  • The loadout system was completely different during early access: instead of choosing five Battlerites before the match starts, you were offered three Battlerites at the start of each round (except during the final round, which had two Ultimate Battlerites) and had to choose one, with the selection being different each round. This meant that different characters could be weaker or stronger on different rounds, and that if multiple Battlerites were offered on the same round, they were mutually exclusive.
