  • He Also Did: Angela didn't just write fiction, she translated Fairy Tales, she was an journalist, wrote the Screenplays for movie adaptations of her own work.
  • What Could Have Been: Angela had begun work on a retelling of Jane Eyre from the viewpoint of Adele. She wrote an outline, but before she could have written anything she discovered she was dying of cancer, so focused on Wise Children and smaller collections.
    • Neil Jordan revealed that after The Company of Wolves he and Angela had planned to make more movies, one plan was to be a movie based on The Lady of the House of Love from The Bloody Chamber, but Carter’s last illness barred any more works.
    • Four years after Carter’s death The Curious Room was published which had all her scripts for her movies and radio plays which also had scripts for unrealised projects.
  • Write What You Know: Carter’s life experience was used a lot in her works.
    • In The Magic Toyshop there is clear shout-outs to her Mother's insane treatment of her, 'treating' her daughter to Bread and Butter Pudding which she grew to hate like Melanie did.
    • The Bloody Chamber was inspired from her grandmother reading her fairy tales and her translation of Charles Perrault.
    • Her time in Japan appears in The Infernal Desire Machines of Doctor Hoffman.
