Trivia / ALF Tales

  • Executive Meddling: Not confirmed, but a joke in the "Sleeping Beauty" episode implies that the show's "different genre every episode" format was forced on the show because children would not find a Medieval Ages-based series interesting. The "Three Little Pigs" episode makes the opposite joke, however; it starts as a parody of The Twilight Zone, only for a cop to show up and force Alf to make the story like a traditional fairy tale. It makes one wonder if the show was meant to parody TV shows/movies at first, and later went to fairy tales for being public domain.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The entire series was available on Amazon Prime for a while, but has since been removed. For a long time, the other legal choice is a one-off DVD with only the first seven episodes. In February 2022, it was announced that Shout! Factory had acquired the distribution rights to this show along with all the other ALF shows and had plans for official releases.
