"Tribulation Trail" is a mile-long trail in Stockbridge, Georgia, showing scenes based off of the book of Revelation. It originally was created in 2003, but after bouncing around from church to church, then going into obscurity, "Tribulation Trail" was revived by a small church in Stockbridge, Georgia in 2013. It operates most Friday and Saturday nights in October, and the first Friday and Saturday of November. This page is for the newer Stockbridge versions, beginning in 2013. If you want to check out the actual Tribulation Trail, the website is here: http://www.tribulationtrail.com .
The end is here, but until then, enjoy these examples of tropes in Tribulation Trail.
Examples of tropes that apply for all versions include:
- Bible Times: A clever variation: Since these events were prophesied during the book of Revelation, technically, the events during the story occur in Bible Times
- No Fourth Wall: You aren't just the audience- You're in the action with them. Exaggerated in the (As of this writing, unreleased) 2017 version, where the Antichrist Lord Niko orders his soldiers to kill the audience. They can't fire, however, and Jesus arrives seconds later.
Examples of Tropes in the 2013/2014 version include:
- Cassandra Truth: During the news spot after the Rapture, the religious expert, a rabbi, warns of the Tribulation in the Holy Bible, only to be interrupted by the anchor switching to an eye witness to the rapture. Eli/Ellie believes them, though.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: The above witness' testimony includes the line "picked them up with his mind powers and flung 'em like a doll". Word of God said this line was, in fact, inspired by the witness scene from Monsters, Inc.
Examples of tropes in the 2016 version include
- All Just a Dream: Averted... Maybe? The angel, Gabe, tells Sam that they are, "About to receive a vision of [the] End Times, a vision like Daniel, John, and many others before you." In a way, it is a dream and it isn't. See the All Just A Dream entry on Book of Revelation.
- Happy Ending: Around the end of his vision, Sam's faith in Christ is restored, and they see their Aunt/Sister in Heaven. As for the events concerned in the vision, it won't be for... no one knows.
