Tear Jerker / Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Go To

  • Throughout the game, we learn that Chloe harboured some resentment towards her father, an archaeologist who taught her everything she knew about the Hoysala Empire. Her father was obsessed with it, and had to send Chloe and her mother away to Australia for their safety. Her only keepsake of him is a tiny statue bearing the figure of Ganesha on it. She believed that he had never been able to get close to the Tusk of Ganesha. On his final expedition, he was killed by bandits. In Belur, the resting place of the Tusk, we find out that Chloe's keepsake of him was part of a set of statues, and her realization that her dad had actually come so close to the Tusk, and had been standing in the same location as she was, is both heartwarming and tearjerking.
  • When Nadine finds out that Chloe has been hiding the fact that Sam Drake is also involved in their mission, she flipped hard at Chloe and punches her in the face (which Chloe makes no attempt to defend as she's also feeling guilty herself), before riding off alone and leaving poor Chloe to walk to her destination alone in the rain. Fortunately, it's only temporary.
Nadine: Just so we're clear: my priority is the Tusk. Not Sam Drake. And certainly not you.
  • The sight of the wild elephant trapped under a toppled column. Chloe and Nadine are led to it by its indescribably haunting cries carrying through the ruins. The second Chloe sees the elephant, she can only gasp in response.
    "Oh, no..."
  • Another one from Nadine is when Chloe decides to try to stop Asav from blowing up a town, even though there is no gain in doing so, and it would most likely be a suicide mission. Nadine is practically crying trying to convince Chloe to just inform the authorities and let them take care of it. When that doesn't work, Nadine even tries to get Sam (perhaps the last person you'd expect Nadine to resort to) to convince her. It becomes heartwarming though when Nadine decides that if she can't convince Chloe not to go, she might as well go along too and watch her friend's back.
