Though Mini Monsters is a bizarre comedy series, isn't free of moments that make the viewer shed a tear at least.
- "El Perfeccionator" is known for being slightly darker than the other albums, and gives some of them:
- Frank being rejected in a very cruel manner, and breaking down as a result. And the worst part? Henrietta didn't reject him at all. It was Miss Hit who wrote the letter, which he finds out later on.
- Everything takes a darker turn when is revealed Miss Hit is Henrietta's Superpowered Evil Side and the responsible of all disappearances. When Lupo gets freed thanks to a magic belt, Frank tries to awake him. Unfortunately, when he does, it's too late: Miss Hit has already used the Perfeccionator to make herself permanent, and Frank gives a Big "NO!" and breaks down sobbing. Even if it's a short moment, is truly heartbreaking, and is the only moment when Lupo's narcolepsy is not Played for Laughs. And it gets worse if you think about it: If the Perfeccionator would actually killed Henrietta, Miss Hit would have succeed in her plan. And when Frank sees her using the invention he made for that, the "death" of his lover was (indirectly) his own fault. Good luck is a comedy series, and Henrietta is still alive even when the Perfeccionator is used.
- Later, we have the moment when Miss Hit looks at the truth mirror, sees Henrietta in her reflection, and realizes she's her true self. She's genuinely shocked, with a face that screams: "My God, What Have I Done?". That moment marks her as a Jerkass Woobie.
- Although Victor's Chew Toy status is Played for Laughs, his "life" is truly horrible, even if he's a Jerkass who deserved some of these things. Although it doesn't happened yet, all who have read the books knows perfectly that if he snaps, it won't be pretty. At all.
