WARNING: Spoilers are unmarked.

  • 1.08: Bo and Lauren's relationship being (temporarily) ruined, especially given that their making love earlier came off as a Heartwarming Moment.
  • 2.12: "Masks": The look on Bo's face when Lauren and Nadia are kissing after Bo freed Nadia from her curse.
  • 2.19: "Truth and Consequences." The ultimate Wham Episode. Trick and Bo telling Kenzi she should leave, Kenzi breaking up with Nate to protect him, Nadia's death...all of it.
  • Bo draining the unwilling killer Fae in "Adventures in FAEbysitting."
  • 3.10: "Delinquents": Lauren finally breaking down over how horrible her life has become, then breaking up with Bo.
  • Tamsin pouring her heart out to Bo in "Hail, Hale." Many a fan became a Valkubus shipper after that.
  • A variation, but Aoife in the Season 4 premiere. She seems so much healthier, happier, and even younger with her memories altered. Which makes her reverting all the more tragic.
  • 4.8: When Bo saves Tamsin from being turned into candy by Krampus, Tamsin is reluctant to be saved at all: "But if they make me candy, then I can't hurt anyone anymore. Then everyone will like me."
  • 4.11: Hale's death. Then Kenzi's desperate sobbing and attempt to get Bo to revive him. And screaming that she had wanted to say "yes" to his proposal. Considering the Heartwarming Moment between them just moments before this makes it all the more tragic.
  • 4.13: Kenzi's death. All of it.
  • 5.07: Tamsin believed she and Bo were in a relationship. After seeing her and Lauren sleeping together, she tries to be understanding. Bo then confesses to Tamsin that while she does love her, she's not "in love" with her. This causes the tough, hard Valkyrie to break down crying, asking what is wrong with her. Bo replies that there is nothing wrong; she just doesn't feel that way, which only makes her cry more.
  • 5.12: After trying to make herself Fae for Bo, Lauren begins losing herself as a result, and so takes the antidote, turning herself human again. Bo's fine with it, but Lauren tearfully breaks up with Bo again, not wanting her to suffer when she (Lauren) dies of old age. Bo begs her not to do this again, but Lauren's mind is apparently made up. And that tearful goodbye kiss makes it no better at all.
  • Trick's death at the hands of Jack/Hades in "Family Portrait," made worse by Bo and Dyson's reaction.
  • The rest of the gang reading Trick's will at the end of "Follow the Yellow Brick Road."
    • The will itself. Doubles as a Heartwarming Moment:
To those I hold dear, it is with great pleasure, that I, Fitzpatrick McCorrigan, member of Clan Finarvin, leave the following:
To Kenzi, the Ring of Yggdrasil. This ring shall grant you freedom from claiming, allowing you constant passage between the Fae and human worlds.
To Lauren, my tomes of the occult. There is a happy marriage between science and magic. I hope you find it one day.
To Tamsin, eternal wanderer, perennially without habitat, I leave the Blanket of Skeemotah, woven from the sky. As long as we are under the stars, we are home.
[To Vex, I leave] the Compass of Nirad. You have found your light in the dark. Here's hoping that your path remains true.
And to my lieutenant Dyson, to you and Mark, I leave my beloved bar the Dal Riata, a place of sanctuary for the colony in dark times. There is no man more able to provide this service. You are my son, Dyson, now and forever. Please show Mark the way.
And last but not least, my Isabeau. I leave you my heart and my eternal gratitude for what you have given me, my granddaughter. It is with deep pride that I look at the woman you've become—honorable, kind, strong. Life is not about finding your path; it's about creating one. Please don't forget. You are my blood, too. Always and forever.
  • Tamsin dying right after giving birth. And this time she's not reincarnating. But she tells Bo not to cry, because for Valkyries, it is not dying, it is rising.
