Episode 1: Tangled Up In Blue
  • When it appeared that Peter was dying, the team almost immediately starts fighting among each other, blaming each other for the above event. Gamora's earlier words was right, that Peter is The Heart, the one to keep the team from falling apart.
  • Hala talking about her dead son and how they will be reunited soon.

     Episode 2: Under Pressure
  • Rocket's backstory after Peter and Rocket touch the Eternity Forge: In Halfworld, Rocket is first seen undergoing cybernetic procedures, with no one helping. Rocket is then thrown into a cage where we then see Lylla, who's in a cell opposite his and we see her missing a few patches of skin. Together, they hatch a plan to get out of the laboratory they're in while Lylla talks about seeing a waterfall and wilderness again. However, Rocket sees that Lylla, due to lack of improvement in procedures, is scheduled for lethal injection, seconds before she is dragged out of her cell. Rocket escapes his and gets to the other side and helps Lylla defeat the machines, but he was too late in stopping the injection. Together, even as Lylla is getting weaker, they manage to escape the lab into the wilderness. As Rocket sets Lylla down, the two share a heartfelt moment before she passes away in his arms, prompting Rocket to sob over his friend's corpse. Good Lord.
"Never...I never told you I..." before she dies...she may have loved Rocket before she died. And maybe Rocket may have even loved her. What makes it even worse is the fact that you can be friendly with her in every dialogue option. And not only that, Rocket kept her promise to get out and see the wild again.
  • You could ask Rocket if he loved her, to which he replies that he did, but never told her because he thought they would have more time together.
  • Doubly worse when the backstory ends: Rocket didn't want Peter to see that, and starts to break down. You have the choice to help bury Lylla or give him a moment to grieve. Either one helps.
    • The kicker? "Rocket will never forget that." Cue bawling.
  • It's basically I Let Gwen Stacy Die for Lylla. Rocket fails to save the woman (okay, otter sow, or his significant otter if that helps) he loved, much like Spider-Man couldn't save Gwen.
  • The absolute worst moment has to be when you confront Rocket in engineering. You can try to talk with him about recent events, only to have Rocket break down and bawl his eyes out. This isn't a moment of despair a la the original film, this is a full-on emotional meltdown that puts the lie to the cocky, smartass front Rocket normally puts on. In one instant Rocket goes from confident space hero to an inconsolable child overcome with grief.

Episode 3: More Than a Feeling

  • At one point while bickering with Peter, Rocket will flat-out state he wishes Peter hadn't come back from the dead. Jeez Rocket. . .
  • If choosing the destroy the Eternity Forge, Hala seeing her son back from the dead, only to have to watch him die again. Despite being a villain, one can feel for the poor woman having hope for her son (along with the hope of her people) only to die in front of her.

     Episode 4: Who Needs You
  • The potential deaths of Nebula and Drax. The former being a result of protecting Gamora from Hala's attack at the end of the last episode. She even has a chance to tell Gamora she loved her before passing away. The gang then spend some time remembering her (even Rocket!).
    • As she lays dying with her cybernetics giving out, Nebula explains to Peter how she ended up that way in the first place.
Nebula: It was my idea to put all... this in my body. Told everyone so I could be... better... than Gamora.
Peter: Why did you really do it?
Nebula: To be more like her.
    • Drax performs a Heroic Sacrifice in order to stop the giant space worm from destroying the Milano.
    • Denying Drax of this causes him to get incredibly angry and punches Quill in the face. He is that torn up about it as he claims Quill kept him from seeing his family.
  • We get to see some of Drax's backstory, specifically time spent training his daughter. Seeing their relationship and knowing what happens to her makes it all the more heartbreaking.
  • The episode ends with the entire team minus Rocket/Gamora and Peter leaving. Based on choices Gamora can leave with the body of Nebula, Mantis leaves as she can't handle the strong emotions between the team (most notably Rocket and Gamora's constant arguments) and Groot leaves to make sure Mantis is not alone. What do Quill and Rocket do in response? Get wasted in the bar.
