- Christine's whole emotional ordeal during the whole time Detective Ryan is molesting her.
- Ruiz's total breakdown when his daughter takes a bullet for him from Farhad's gun. The locksmith's 5-year-old daughter, believing herself to be wearing an invincible armour cloak, runs in front of her daddy as he's being held up by an angry, disillusioned gunman. The handgun accidentally discharges just as the girl leaps up to hug the father. Cue horrific closeup of the father's face after he realises that he made his daughter think she was impervious to bullets. His wife's meltdown doesn't help keep the tears at bay. Then you realize the ammo in the pistol was craftily loaded by the gunman's daughter with blanks, knowing her father would get into a situation like this.
- Waters' mother collapsing onto the hospital floor after seeing Peter's (her younger son and Waters' baby brother) body. Also her disowning Waters for failing to find him, also thinking Peter was the one bringing her groceries, with Waters unable to tell her the truth, that it was HIM the entire time.
- Jean's racist remark saying that she wants the locks changed again after Daniel changed the locks because he looks like a gangster. She even bets that he's handing out copies of her keys to his friends to rob the place. Daniel overhears this without her realizing and approaches her. His look of hurt is clear, but he soon places the keys on the counter for her and leaves.
- Ria's disappointed and disgusted reaction after Waters makes a deliberate, insensitive remark about her heritage. The scene is even more poignant given how she doesn't even give one racist insult back to him. She just leaves his house.
- Farhad's store being broken into by racist assholes. Everything is smashed and the walls are smeared with derogatory literature.
