Tear Jerker / Amnesia: Rebirth

Go To

  • The entire prologue, with Tasi talking about her memories, is this.
  • Tasi finding the body of her husband Salim.
  • Choosing to use the Shadow to destroy the Empress and her endlessly tortured victims results in the Shadow also consuming Tasi, the same as Daniel in some endings of the first game - and this time, her newborn child also. As the flesh snares them both, Tasi can only clutch Amari futilely and tearfully choke out an apology.
Tasi: Oh little one...I'm sorry... but her world...there's so much pain...it can't go on like this...
  • The negative implications of the Provider ending, such as the inevitable start of World War II, the French occupation by the nazis, Amari's illness, Tasi's transformation not being "cured" or halted by the cutting of Empress Tihana's connection, and the possibility that Tasi could give in to the opportunity of keeping Amari alive through Vitae, leading to the torture of many in a similar manner to Daniel.
  • The Harvester Ending. Tasi saying goodbye to her child. Amari being everything she has left. She went through all of the horror and tragedy throughout the game only for the child to be raised by someone else while she transforms into a harvester.
  • Tasi's life before the events of the story, having been a beautiful love story with Salim, until Alys' disease kicked in, clouding their marriage into sadness, possibly even endangering their relationship, and once this situation finally gains a hope spot, the accident in Algeria happens, and Salim dies from his injuries.
  • After losing her first daughter, Tasi never gives up her second one, even when that means sacrificing the rest of her crew to the desert and the creatures that lie within it, something that sparks the rage of almost every one of those who are aware of this once their transformation into Ghouls begins, and when Tasi finds each one of them after waking up from her amnesia, they answer her with angry remarks or by secretly using her for their own purposes, being that the only ones that don't, have either already turned or died.
  • Johnathan Webber, an English family man who sought adventure as the engineer in an expedition to French Sudan, only for his plane to crash into a mysterious location in Algeria, making him become sorrowful and apologetic, writing letters for his family that would never be sent to them, and ending up being brutally killed by a monstrous creature in the first sign of civilization he finds.
  • The fate of pretty much everyone on the expedition. Not one person had any idea what was going to happen to them, and all they really want to do is get back to civilization when shit hits the fan. This makes them quite relatable and personable people, which makes it all the sadder that not a single one of them, except maybe Tasi and Amari, makes it to the end of the game.
