- Detention Episode: Downplayed; Sheldon is given detention for walking out of class due to being Terrified of Germs, and is then suspended after walking out of detention for the same reason.
- Food as Bribe: Mary fails to chase down Sheldon after he builds a habitat for him to use while riding out flu season. Afterwards, Meemaw makes a tray of chocolate chip cookies and sets them just outside the barrier to lure out her grandson...only for Sheldon to yank them inside without ever leaving the habitat.
- I Need a Freaking Drink: After a futile attempt to catch Sheldon in the garage, an exhausted Mary heads into the kitchen to grab a beer.Connie: Look at that! Saint Mary drinking alcohol.
Mary: God saw what just happened, he gets it. - Pass the Popcorn: Meemaw lays back in a lawn chair with a beer in hand watching Mary deal with a germaphobic Sheldon.
- Terrified of Germs: Sheldon takes extreme measures to avoid getting sick during flu season, including running out of class (and later detention) without permission. He ultimately builds a "habitat" in the garage.
