Valtor is revealed to still be alive, and unleashes a trap for the Winx. Bloom must use everything she learned from Pyros if she wishes to confront Valtor a final time and defeat him once and for all.
- Bittersweet Ending: Valtor is destroyed and everyone celebrates the end of the year, but Bloom's Enchantix powers are still incomplete. Fortunately, she now looks forward to finding her birth parents.
- Book Ends: In the 4Kids dub, with the name of this episode being similar to the name of the season one finale, Fire and Ice. Fitting, since this is the last episode of that dub.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: Bloom's last fight with Valtor inside his mind is simply finished with her extinguishing his fire with her Fairy Dust.
- End of an Age: The last episode to be dubbed in English by 4Kids Entertainment.
- Killed Off for Real: Valtor is destroyed after Bloom extinguishes his fire.
- One-Winged Angel: Valtor again, although this time he is forced into his demon form by the Ancestral Witches.
- Pre-Explosion Glow: Rays of light from the Dragon Flame shine from Valtor's heart just before he is destroyed for good.
- Pre-Mortem One-Liner: "Goodbye, Valtor." Said by Bloom as she uses her Fairy Dust to destroy Valtor. This line is only present in the Nick dub.
- Sequel Hook: The end of the episode talks about Bloom's quest for her birth parents, leading into The Secret of the Lost Kingdom, except in the 4Kids dub, which ends here.
- We Can Rule Together: Valtor tries this with Bloom, but naturally, she refuses.
- Where It All Began: Valtor returns to his old base on Andros to have the final showdown.
