- Artistic License – Medicine: While looking for a snack to feed Clifford, Panda turns down potato chips on account of Clifford's gluten allergies. Potato chips are actually gluten-free and would be perfectly fine.
- The Bus Came Back: Lucy makes her first appearance since her debut in season 1.
- Call-Back: Lucy mentioned in her debut episode that she always keeps an epipen on her because of her little brother's allergies. In this episode, the Bears meet Lucy's brother Clifford, to whom Panda mentions this.
- Cloud Cuckoolander: Clifford does strange things such as sitting upside down, hanging out in a bathtub with no water in it, and laying down under the couch.
- My Sister Is Off-Limits: Clifford doesn't take kindly to anyone dating Lucy, especially the ones using him to get close to his sister.
- Plot Allergy: Panda and Clifford's shared allergy to nuts becomes a major plot point when peanut butter splashes on Clifford and gets on Panda's hands.
