While Amy, Dan, Jonah and Richard lead the Nevada recount effort, Mike begins a new diet, Kent tries to figure out how old Sue is, and Selina meets a billionaire banker.

While half the staff head to Nevada to work the recount effort, Selina fulfills her duties as president and hosts a meeting of important economic contributors at the White House.

Tropes:

  • Black Comedy:
    • Selina describes getting divorced as, "the best thing my husband and I ever did. Including our daughter.”
    • Furlong insults a Nevada recount official by saying he's been doing work like this, "since before your mother was throwing herself down the stairs belly-first."
  • The Dragon: Bob Bradlee - nicknamed the Eagle - is a senior lobbyist from the old days brought on to help the recount effort. However, he turns out to be confused and even senile, although not everyone notices. Amongst other things, he says he remembers Sue from the late ’80’s, even though Sue was probably a child then.
  • Implausible Deniability: Dan tries to reframe a ballot that says "Fuck Selina Myer" as - in a joyful tone - "Fuck, Selina Meyer!"
  • Last-Second Word Swap: Selina successfully improvises when she learns the wife of a man she's talking to has divorced him since they last talked.
    Selina: How’s Susan -
    Gary: They're divorced.
Selina: - Not in jail for what she did to you?
  • Mean Boss: Selina shows her regard for Gary by brushing off thought of him as saying, “That’s like saying this chair matters”
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Roger Furlong comes down to Nevada to help canvas for Selina's support but finds his ... unique manner causes more harm than good:
Furlong: (after his insults reduce a recount official to tears) I didn't mean anything by calling you Grimace. It has nothing to do with your body shape or the way your head goes into your body so smoothly.
  • Older Than They Look: Implied when Bob Bradlee seemingly remembers Sue from when he last worked in the White House and says she hasn't changed a bit, which would mean she was already working in DC in the late 1980s. However, Bob is later revealed to be senile so his memory may not be reliable.
  • Remember the New Guy?: Charlie Baird is introduced as a new love interest for Selina.
  • Running Gag: Mike is doing a juice cleanse that causes him to be lethargic and confused. Losing the bottle with the juice in it nearly makes him pass out.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Dan mishears Amy’s loser sister who works at drugstore chain CVS saying she works at C-B-S, the television network, and upon her implication, decides to fuck her for the guarantee that he’ll get a job.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Mike is pretty lethargic because of the lack of energy that comes from his juice cleanse. But a sudden wave of fatigue when he's asked about Charlie Baird at a press conference leads people to deduce completely by accident that Charlie is hooking up with the president.
